Trying to fly kites

This Labor day Peter and I thought it would be a fun idea to go fly kites with Sarah at the park. So we wake up get ready and head to my parent's to pick up my mom and sister Toni. Once we are all at the park we have some lunch and start looking for some shade because well it is Texas and it's hot.

Now that we had found some shade Peter and I wipe out the kites. We had to walk a little ways to get to a clear area. My Mom and Sarah came right behind us as we tried to fly the kites with some pretty weak breezes. ( That Peter's Dragon Kite )

After Sarah and my Mom reached us Sarah was already a little sweaty from the heat so I picked her up and we also tried to fly our kite together.  About ten minutes later we all where really hot and decided to sit and have some otter pops. Needless to say but Sarah was loving hers!

Once we had cooled off Peter went for round two with the Sarah's and my kite. It worked a little bit better but there really wasn't much wind so it only stayed airborne for a few seconds. Sarah had fun watching in the shade.

Once Daddy came back in he helped her to fly a kite, she had so much fun! And we all did too!

Flowers

Peter and I have planted our flower garden in the front of our home. It took a while to figure out what we wanted and we went to three different stores to get everything that we needed but it was worth it. Sarah even got to help dig up the dirt and help mommy with the tree.

It was too funny we bought Sarah a little hand shovel and a knee pad turns out her knee pad was great and so did her shovel. I even used them for the last bit lol she didn't mind borrowing them since she was taking a break.

First Week of April

Well it has been a very fun week for us down here in Texas. We have had crazy weather and have been having fun beautifying our home on the inside and out. Lets start with the weather.

April 3, 2012

Peter and I had know idea what the weather was doing that day so we were out of the house all morning doing things without a single drop of rain. It wasn't until I pull up in to the parking lot at work and saw everyone in the storm shelter that I had any idea what was going on, because the only reason we go over there is if there is a real chance of a tornado. So naturally I park and go over there to see what is happening and they tell me that that there was a tornado in Justin which in not far from Denton and that that storm was heading right for us. So i go and clock in and give a prayer of safety for us and for Peter and Sarah how were at home and feel confident that nothing would happen and then went back to the shelter. Well we all waited awhile and then we got the OK to go back to our office and wouldn't you know it next thing we know we see what looks like a funnel cloud forming right over our plant. And between you and me a tornado at a hazardous recycling plant does not sound like to much fun, so all the ladies booked it to the shelter and watched as it slowly passed us and never touched down. I was so thankful for the power of prayer that day also because 10 miles pulse away peter later told me that he saw pink skys, and we all know colored skys in stormy weather is not a good thing, but nothing happened but a bit of rain. So needless to say but we were very blessed that day.

The rest of the week Peter, Sarah and I have been gathering things for our flower bed in the front of the house and have been hanging things up, granted it is mainly just one art set but it is getting there bit by bit. We have bought our flowers and have been prepping the ground for them. We had bought some soil to mix in and had four large bags that we thought would be enough but it turns out we guessed a little low so the four bags only mix up with about half of the box so we will be off to get some more tomorrow to finish it and get our flowers put in.

We will have pictures up soon but until then we hope you all are having a great week!
